vote bank

votes of a particular community that is expected to vote en masse in favour of a political party or alliance.

Traditionally, Muslims have been voting _en masse_ and political

parties have been offering all kinds of sops and incentives to win their support.

Tired of accusing these parties of playing "vote bank politics" and

practicing pseudosecularism [1], the Sangh Parivar [2] went ahead with its own brand of vote-bank politics known as Hindutva [3]. And, it has had considerable success in combating once unassailable influence of the "Muslim vote bank.
